Annie Bauer

Mrs. Annie Bauer, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and homemaker, 91, of Altoona, died at 6:08 AM, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at her residence, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Bauer was born in Ganister, Pa on November 11, 1927, daughter of the late Vasil and Elsie (Fecenko) Fek She married Joseph Michael Bauer October 24, 1953 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Altoona. He preceded her in death January 23, 2000.

She retired in 1991 as a pattern folder at Butterick, Altoona, Pa with 35 years of service.

She was a member of S.S. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in America, Altoona where she had served as Church Treasurer for 15 years.

Annie was a 1946 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She enjoyed crochetting.

She is survived by 3 children David Allen (Valerie) Bauer, of Bessemer, Pa; Daniel B. Bauer and Marlene F. Hileman both Altoona, Pa; 2 grandsons Michael (Jennifer) Hileman: and Kyle L. (Nicole) Bauer; a great grandson Nevin Hileman; a sister Elsie Speck; beloved niece Lisa Marie Weidlich; grand nephew William C. “Billy” Wertz. Annie was preceded in death by a grandson Nell Bauer in 2015 and 6 brothers. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, many loving friends, neighbors, fellow church members and co-workers.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at S.S. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in America, Altoona, Pa at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 3, 2019 with Fr. Andrew Matychak officiating.

Interment at Alto Reste Park Cemetery Altoona, Pa

Friends will be received Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at S.S. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in America 2027 – 13 ^th Ave Altoona with Fr. Andrew Matychak celebrating.
