Annie Rigas

Mrs. Annie Rigas, 92 of Golden living Center Hillview, Alttona formerly of 300 E. 23rd Ave. died Wednesday afternoon, December 3, 2014 at Hillview after a brief illness.

Mrs. Rigas was born in Altoona, Pa.on September 7, 1922, daughter of the late John and Soteria (Haida) Theodore. She married Teologos "Ted" Rigas May 1, 1949 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He died January 22, 2006.

Annie was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church Altoona and a former member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church where she served as Choitr Director and Organist.

Mrs. Rigas was a 1941 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of St. Mary's Orthodox Society, former member of St. George Orthodox Chuch Choir and enjoyed her family, baking and traveling.

She is survived by a son Retired Capt. USN Trifon (wife Priscilla) Rigas of Chesapeake, VA, and a daughter Adrian (husband Robert) Wills of New Cumberland, Pa. Annie is also survived by four grandchildren Christopher Rigas, Alexis (husband Thomas) Egley and Robert T. (wife Erin) Wills and Jonathan Wills, 1 great grandson Thomas Kaine Egley.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, at 11:00 AM December 8, 2014 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, Alttona, with Rev. Michael Kouremetis and Rev. Joseph Gereige concelebrating.

Interment will be at Alto Reste Park Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received from 6-8 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Jones Funeral Home where a Trisagion Service will be hold at 7;30 pm.
