Anthony Tasselli

Mr. Anthony D "Tony" Tasselli, 90 of Altoona, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness. The Lord blessed Anthony, taking him home to Him. He passed away, leaving his "Rosebud", wife after 65 years of marriage.

Mr. Tasselli was born in Renova, Pa. on July 6, 1925, son of the late John V. and Anna (Sachette) Tasselli.

He retired in 1991 as a tube tester at Sylvania Electronics, Altoona with 40 years of service. He previously worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Altoona.

Tony attended Lock Haven High School. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 551, Newburg Volunteer Fire Association and Cesare Battisti Club. He enjoyed fishing in Alaska for many years, hunting and gardening.

He served in the U.S. Navy in WWll as a Torpedo man 3rd Class.

He married Rosalie J. Snitzer July 16, 1951 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lock Haven, Pa.

He is survived by his wife and a son Charles A. Tasselli, of Wasilla, Alaska. Known as "Grandpap", Tony is survived by 5 grandchildren Angelica Spitzer, Jessica Tasselli, David Tasselli, Tracey Boyles and Marcello Tasselli and 6 great grandchildren and 3 siblings Angelo Tasselli of Alexandria, VA, Betty Crissman of Lock Haven, Pa. and Sr. Farcisius Tasselli IHM of Scranton, Pa. He was preceded in death by two sons David and Damian Tasselli and a bother Vito Tasselli.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Altoona at 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 with Fr. David R. Rizzo officiating.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.

There will be no public visitation.
