Charles Koehle

Charles E. "Chuck" Koehle, 79, Hollidaysburg, died Saturday in the Emergency Room at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Caroline Koehle. On Aug. 4, 1962, he married Nancy M. Farabaugh at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona.

Surviving are his wife; three sons: Tom A. Koehle of Altoona, Scott D. (Angie) Koehle  of Phoenix, Ariz., and Adam C. (Stephanie) Koehle of Aloha, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Patches.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael F. Koehle.

Chuck was a 1957 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1988 as safety director for Butterick Co., Altoona, after 27 years of service.

He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan and he enjoyed the outdoors. He was affable and enjoyed making people laugh.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held during the visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, Father Anthony Legarski celebrant. Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
