Cheryl Consalvo

Cheryl Ann Consalvo, 63, of Altoona, died Monday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, and raised by her grandparents, Ira and Dorothy Wilt.

She married James A. Consalvo on Jan. 11, 1975, at Canon Station Mennonite Church, with the Rev. George Townsend officiating. On Feb. 14, 1976, at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, they were remarried by Monsignor Roy F. Kline, celebrant.

Cheryl retired in 2019 as a correction officer with the rank of sergeant at Blair County Prison with 20 years of service.

She was of the Mennonite Faith.

Cheryl was a 1975 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School. She enjoyed going to casinos.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Heather Marie Consalvo of Altoona and Jennifer L. Stever of McKinney, Texas. Cheryl is also survived by three grandsons: Tyler J. Weyant, Trenton S. Weyant and Traxton J. Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Brinley-Ann Weyant; siblings: Cathy Ayers, Pam Ross, Terry Horton, Lori Stotler, Wendy Daus, James Harris, William Wilt, Herbert Wilt, Irene Arthur and Debbie Clair.

She was preceded in death by siblings: Marlene Harris, Connie McNally, Janice Rhodes, Sonny Wilt and Mae Carbonetti.

Private family Committal Rites will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Calvary Cemetery, with Monsignor Stanley B. Carson officiating.

There will be no public visitation.

Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home, Altoona.
