Clara Tomlinson

Clara Mae “Cis” Tomlinson, 90, of Altoona, Pa died at 11:00 PM, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at her residence, unexpectedly.

She was born in Altoona, Pa on January 13, 1931, daughter of the late Fred H. and Irma (Boslet) Resig and married Robert C. Tomlinson April 18, 1953 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Altoona. He preceded her in death January 5, 1991.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altoona, Pa.

Cis was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a past member of Columbian Circle and Cathedral and Sacred Heart Choirs. She enjoyed bird watching, word puzzles, reading, bingo and was an avid bowler.

She served in the U.S. Navy as a Wave in the Korean War.

Cis is survived by 6 children Mary Lou (Lee) Appleman, of Altoona, Pa; David R. (Gaye) Tomlinson, of Lancaster, Pa; Mark R. Tomlinson, Joan M. (Partner Donald E. Belsey) Tomlinson, Suzanne C. (Partner Bemard P. Wills) Storme, and Kevin A. (Wendy) Tomlinson all of Altoona, Pa. Cis also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons and was preceded in death by 3 sisters infant sister Dorothy J. Resig, Joan M. Smith and Erma J. Mathews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona, Pa with Fr. Lubomir J. Strecok celebrant.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received from 4-7 PM Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil For the Deceased will be celebrated during the visitation.
