Dean Papadeas

Mr. Dean T. Papadeas, 71, of Duncansville, Pa died peacefully with his family at his side a battle with cancer at 2:35 PM Monday, November 18, 2019.

Mr. Papadeas was born in Altoona, Pa on February 12, 1948, son of the late Ted L. and Helen (Mastos) Papadeas. He married Barbara A. Beiswenger July 11, 1975 in Jacksonville, NC. She preceded him in death November 13, 2018.

He retired in 2004 as a Police Officer with City of Altoona after 24 years of service.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Altoona, Pa.

Dean was a 1966 graduate of Altoona High School. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Marine Corps Shooting League and the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed spending time with his family and hid dog “Charlie” and shooting.

Dean served in the U.S. Marine Corps  during the Vietnam War. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by 4 children Gina M. (Tom) McGrath, of Duncansville, Pa; Donatella Auerbeck, of Hollidaysburg, Pa; Donato A. Gallucci, of Uniontown, Pa and Jaime D. (Tim) Shaw, of Duncansville, Pa; a sister Cheryl T. Minnigh and brother Lee T. Papadeas both of Altoona, Pa. Dean is survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dean is preceded in death by a great grandson James David Maugle.

A Funeral Service was celebrated at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Altoona, Pa at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 22, 2019 with Fr. Joseph Cervo Celebrant.

Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

There will be no public visitation.
