Edward Shaw

Edward B. Shaw, 67, of Altoona, died Friday morning, after an extended illness.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late William Elwood and Audrey (Strohbaugh) Shaw. He married Sarah J. Hirt on April 20, 1985, in Altoona.

He is survived by his wife; two children, Melanie Servello of Tampa, Fla., and Michael Shaw of Altoona; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and four siblings: David (Ann) Shaw of Mesquite, Nev., Robert (Lori) Shaw of Cresson, Sandy Weyandt of Charlotte, N.C., and Thomas Shaw of Altoona. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Callan.

Ed retired as a self-employed contractor in 2000. He had attended Altoona Bible Church.

He attended Altoona Area High School. He enjoyed building things, cutting his grass, Western movies and his dogs, especially Benni.

There will be no public visitation. Services are private at the convenience of the family with Pastor Stewart McClelland officiating.

Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
