Mr. Edward J. “Edgie” Wolfe Sr., 79, of 1010 – 12 th st Apt. 801 Altoona, Pa, died at 9:54 AM, Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at UPMC – Altoona ER.

Mr. Wolfe Sr. was born in Scranton, Pa on September 7, 1939, son of the late James A. and Genevieve A. (Podgurski) Wolfe. He was previously married to Dona J. Lardieri.

He retired in 2001 as a Tool Crib Attendant and Fork Lift Driver at F.L. Smith Machine Company Duncansville, Pa with 30 years of service.

He was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa where he had served as a usher.

Edgie attended Altoona Catholic High School. He was a past member of the Bavarian Aid Society and the Newburg Volunteer Fire Association. He enjoyed all sports and traveling. He was an avid catcher in Little League and Federation baseball.

He is survived by 5 children Karen Wolfe of NYC, NY; Catherine King, Carol Siford, Edward J. Wolfe Jr.; James A. Wolfe all of Altoona; a sister Elaine M. (Larry) Burke, of Altoona, Edgie was preceded in death by a brother Herman Wolfe and a sister Ruth Gourley.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, with Fr. Dennis Kurdziel officiating.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received from 4 – 7 PM Friday, April 12, 2019 at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil For the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
