Mrs. Emily J. Kormanski, 89, of Altoona, formerly of Saxton died Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Hillview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Altoona, after an extended illness.
She was born in Everett, Pa on February 27, 1931, daughter of the late Jason H. and Margaret Josephine (Barton) Eahelman. She married Frank M. Kormanski in 1955 in Everett, Pa. He preceded her in death in 1983.
She retired in 1993 as a teacher at Tussey Mountain School District with 37 years of service.
Emily was a 1948 graduate of Everett High School, received a Bachelor Degree in Teaching from University of Pittsburgh in 1952 and a Masters Degree from Shippensburg University. She was member of PSSEA and her bridge club. She enjoyed playing the piano and gardening.
Emily is survived by 3 children Brian M. (Ramona) Kormanski of Altoona, Adam S. Kormanski, of Saxton and Nyssa E. (Chris) Smith, of Bellefonte, Pa. 3 siblings James Eshelman, of Florida, Richard Eshelman, of Akron, OH, and Nancy Wertz, of Everett, Pa and 8 grandchildren. Emily was preceded in death by a son Joel M. Kormanski and 2 siblings Lucille Middlesworth and Willbert Eshelman.
Interment is private at convenience of the family at Ave Maria Cemetery Dudley, Pa.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions there will be no visitation.
