Francis Kuhn

Mr.Francis E. "Fran" Kuhn, 79 of Hollidaysburg, Pa. formerly of 205 Miton Ave. Altoona, died at 7:30 AM, Friday, December 19, 2014 at The Lutheran Home At Hollidaysburg. after an extended illness.

Mr. Kuhn was born in Altoona, Pa. on June 17, 1935, son of the late LeRoy Morris and Margaret (Brawley) Kuhn. He married Linda M. Matlack November16, 1957 at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, Altoona.

He retired in 2010 as a Blair County Jury Commissioner at Blair County Court of Common Pleas, Hollidaysburg, Pa with 15 years of service. He retired in 1992 as a Revenue Agent for the Department of Revenue, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He also served as City Clerk for 2 years and two terms on City Council, City of Altoona and worked for Wissinger's IGA and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

He was a member of Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church Altoona, Pa.

Fran was a 1955 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and attended Penn State - Altoona for one year. He was past President of the Home Association and Past President of the School Board of Our Lady Lourdes and was a member of the Church and Finance Councils. He was active in local politics having served as Vice - Chairman and Committeeman for Blair County Democratic Committee. He also served 8 years as a Board member of Penn Prime Municipal Insurance and was chairman for 3 of those years.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Fran is survived by hid wife and two children Cynthia A. (husband Britt) Parks, of Montrose CO; and James F. (wife Susan) Kuhn, of Altoona, Pa. four grandchildren Sterling Parks, Kelsey Kuhn (Fiance John Bucci), Kevin and Christopher Kuhn and 2 sisters Mary Jean Leberfinger and Beverly Fabian both of Altoona. Fran was preceded in death by 2 brothers Austin "Charlie" Kuhn and LeRoy "Pat" Kuhn.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, Alttoona, with Fr. David R. Rizzo and Fr. James B. Coveney concelebrating.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received Friday, December 26, 2014 from 3 - 7 PM at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil For the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
