Mrs Helen L. O'Leary, 90, of 198 Indiana Dr, Altoona, Pa. died at 9:10 PM, Thursday, March 26, at UPMC - Altoona after as extended illness.
Mrs. O'Leary was born in Altoona, Pa. on October 6, 1924, daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Kline) Cole. She married Paul M. O'Leary October 18, 1947 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. He died August 7, 2011.
She retired as a Budget Analyst at Conrail with 35 years of sevice. Prior to that she worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad.
She was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.
Helen was a graduate of Cresson High School and attended Altoona School of Commerce. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crochetting, shopping, and going out to lunch with friends.
She is survived by 2 daughters Dana L. McGuire, of Blairsville, Pa: and Jean A. (David) Cain, of Latrobe, Pa: 2 bothers and a sister Donald "Skip" cole, of Altoona, Pa: Harold "Teeny" (Theresa) cole, of Indiana, Pa: and Patricia Swope, of Altoona, Pa. Helen is also survived by 4 grandchildren John Paul ( Andrea) Laughlin, Julie Smith, Joni McGuire and Jana (Barry) Butina and 7 greatchildren Christopher, Aiden and Colin Laughlin, Morgan and Madison Smith and Quint and Jaylin McManus. She was preceded in death by 3 borthers Robert Cole, Raymond Cole and James Cole.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Pa.
Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.
Friensds will be received from 4-8 PM Monday, March 30, 2015 at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil for the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
