James J. Batrus

James "Jimmy Joe" Joseph Batrus, 72, Altoona, passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer Wednesday, May 22, 2024. He was born in Altoona, PA on August 28, 1951, son of Alma Wierman and the late Thomas Batrus. He married the love of his life Sharon I. Bell on June 26, 1969, who preceded him in death on October 5, 1999. James is proudly survived by his daughter, Candance Holliday (Alfie); and three beautiful granddaughters, Kayla Holliday, Gabby Holliday and Rebecca Holliday, who brought him so much love and happiness. James is also survived by his dear mother, Alma; two sisters, Karen Mullen and Roberta Parisi (Dan); and nieces and nephews, Autumn, Tommy, Danny and Christine. Last but not least, he was blessed with many friends whom he loved, especially Vince Solimando (Nikki, Teresa, and Michael). At the request of James, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be planned in the next couple of weeks. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, An Anderson Family Firm, 1222 13th Avenue, Altoona.
