James Kenaweel

James O. Kenawell Sr.78, of Duncansville, Pa formerly of Altoona, died at 1:40 PM, Saturday, December 21, 2019 at UPMC – Altoona, Altoona after an extended illness.

Mr. Kenawell Sr. was born in Hollidaysburg, Pa on January 4, 1941, son of the late Ralph C. and Anna J. (Zeek) Kenawell. He married Suzanne M. McGraw December 31, 1964 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.

He retired in 2000 as a Postal Clerk with US Postal Service, Altoona, with 35 years of service. Jim served in the US NAVY.

He was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.

Jim was a 1958 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a member of Blair County Game Fish and Forestry Association, St Stanislaus Kostka Botherhood, Bavarian Aid Society and National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Pittsburgh Penguins fan and enjoyed reading.

Jim is survived by his wife and 2 children James O. (Suzanne) Kenawell Jr, and Melissa M. (Michael) DeGrasse, both of Altoona, Pa. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Pa at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2019 with Msgr. Stanley Carson officiating.

Friends will be received Friday December 27, 2019 from 5-8 PM at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil For the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
