James Luther

James Joseph (Jim) Luther, of Altoona, Pa died at 11:44 PM, Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his residence, after an extended illness.

Mr. Luther was born in Altoona, Pa on April 16, 1957, son of the late Stanley M. and Madeline M. (Crist) Luther.

He was a Warehouse Worker at The Crist Corporation Altoona, Pa with 15 years of service. He was Previously the owner and operator of Luther’s Auto Body.

He was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.

Jim attednded Altoona Area High School. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

He is survived by his Life Companion Catherine A. “Katie” Tremmel 4 children Justin Robert Little, Larissa Madeline Little, Heidi Tremmel, and William Tremmel all of Altoona, Pa 2 grandchildren Shyla Little and Cohen Little and 6 siblings Joanne M. Stephens, and William S. Luther both of Duncansville, Pa; Mary Catherine Douglas, of Reisterstown, MD; Michael H. Luther, of Richmond, VA; Lucinda A. Bryan, OF Goose Creek, SC; and Patricia L. Sipes of Porta Vedra, FL. Jim is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by 2 brothers Gerald F. and Richard T. Luther.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Pa at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 26, 2019 with Msgr. Robert C. Mazur, celebrant.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5-8 PM at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil for the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
