Joseph Baronner

Mr. Joseph L. Baronner, 73, of Altoona, Pa died Friday, December 10, 2021 at UPMC – Altoona, after an extended illness.

He was born in Altoona, Pa on January 25, 1948, son of the late Lawrence H. and Marie E. (Wineland) Baronner. He was twice married, first to Sheila Scholl and to Connie H. Hall February 28, 1997 in Cumberland, MD.

He retired in 2008 as a laborer at Altoona Waste Water Authority – West Altoona with 35 years of service.

He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Altoona, Pa.

Joe was a 1966 graduate of Altoona High School and received an Associate Degree in Bio-Solutions from Altoona Vo-Tech and Penn State University. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Bavarian Aid Society, Juniata VFW, Ashville VFW, James Noble VFW, Caesar Battisti and Newburg Fire Association. He enjoyed walking his dog, watching wresting and tinkering.

He is survived by his wife and 5 children H. William Baronner, S. Christopher (Amanda) Baronner, J. Tim Baronner, all of Altoona, Pa ; Melissa J. (Kevin) Suter, of Loysburg, Pa; and Joseph B. (Significant Other Jess Green) Baronner, of Altoona, Pa; 4 step children Margaretta Gilcrest, of DuBois, Pa; Jill Bolger, of Sarasota, FL; Rick Hanks, of Somerset, Pa; Rob Hanks, of Bedford, Pa; 3 siblings Agnes Baronner; Francis Baronner and Ronald Baronner, all of Altoona, Pa. Joe is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Charles and John Baronner.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 12th Ave & 20th St. with Msgr. Stanley B. Carson officiating.

There will be no public visitation.
