Michael Pfister

Mr. Michael E. Pfister, 72 of Altoona, Pa died Saturday, July 27, 2019 at UPMC-Altoona at after an extended illness.

Mr. Pfister was born in Altoona, Pa on November 8, 1946, son of the late Robert W. and Margaret V. (Simm) Pfister. He married Ronilda DaSilva Calmon October 11, 1986 in Altoona.

He retired as a Draftsman at Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Hollidaysburg, Pa with 35 years of service. He previously worked at K-Mart and Boyer Candy Co.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altoona, Pa.

Mike was a 1964 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and attended 2 years of college and received an Associate Degree in Draftmanship. He was a member of Hollidaysburg Sportsmans Club and Bavarian Aid Society and was a past member of the Concordia Club. Mike enjoyed camping with his children, skeet shooting, flying remote controlled airplanes, bowling and shortwave radio.

He is survived by his wife and 2 sons Brian Pfister in Pennsylvania and Mark Pfister, in Florida; 2 brothers Steve Pfister and Robert Pfister both of Hollidaysburg, Pa. Mike was preceded in death by a brother Patrick Pfister.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona, Pa with Fr. Lubomir J. Strecock officiating.

Friends will be received at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Funeral time.

Committal Rites will be held at Grandview Cemetery Altoona at the convenience of the family.
