Mildred Boyle

Mrs. Mildred J. Boyle, of Altoona, Pa, died at 7:05 PM, Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Altoona Center Nursing Care after an extended illness.

Mrs. Boyle was born in Altoona on November 29, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph Chester and Elizabeth (Brandt) O'Connor. She married Eugene A. "Gene" Boyle October 27, 1951 at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Altoona.

Millie was a 1944 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1948 graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing, Pittsburgh and was a member of the Cadet Nursing Corp. She enjoyed reading, traveling and music.

She retired in 1986 as a Registered Nurse and Administrative Director of Cardiology at Altoona Hospital, Altoona, with 30 years' of service.

She was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona.

Millie is survived by her husband and daughter-in- law Debbie Boyle of State College. She is also survived by one grandson, Nicolas P. (Mary) Boyle and 3 great grandchildren MacKenzie Ann, Blythe Andres and Roark Patrick Boyle. She is preceded in death by two infant daughters, a son D. Jeffrey Boyle and seven siblings, Leo, Norbert, Donald, Bernard, A. Ruth, Beatrice J. "Betty" O'Connor and Regina Dress.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 with Msgr. Robert C. Mazur officiating.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona, Pa.

There will be no public vsitation.
