Patricia J. Dean

Patricia Jane Dean, 73, Altoona, passed away peacefully Saturday June 29, 2024 at, UPMC Altoona, after an extended illness. Born April 6, 1951, Altoona, daughter of the late Henry “Harry” V. and Helen E. (Buchanan) Strohmeyer. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Warren Scott Dean; and brother, Charles Strohmeyer. Survived by her three daughters: Kerri Francioni and wife, Tracy of Wapwallopen; Kelli Gill and husband, Torae of Cherry Tree; and Nichole Dean and fiance, James Dailey of Altoona; two grandchildren, Brayden and Amylee Gill of Cherry Tree; brothers, Richard Strohmeyer and wife, Janice of Altoona; and Ronald Strohmeyer and wife, Jen of Delaware, OH; foster son, Joe Howsare of Harper’s Ferry, W.Va.; and son, Robert Gohn and his husband, Todd (Hiquet) Gohn of Altoona. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Saydee. Patricia was a 1969 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother, who opened her home to many children throughout the years. She worked as a factory worker for Murata Electronics in State College for several years. Patricia was well known for her cooking and baking, especially what she brought to picnics. She enjoyed watching action movies and crime shows, cleaning, and going camping. Most importantly, she cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Friends and family will be received Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. funeral service, Jones Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert E. Gohn Jr. officiating. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help the family with costs.
