Percy Hicks

Mr. Percy F. Hicks, 96, of Altoona, Pa, died at 7:30 AM, Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.

He was born in Duncansville, Pa on December 3, 1924, son of the late John W. and Linnie E. (Chamberlain) Hicks. He married Elizabeth G. Keller June 6, 1948 at St. Michael Church, Hollidaysburg. She preceded him in death February 23, 2019.

He retired in 1991 as a foreman at Holliday Hill Orchard Hollidaysburg, Pa with 32 years service. He previously worked at Stormer Well Drilling.

Percy was of the Protestant Faith.

Mr. Hicks was a 1943 graduate of Hollidaysburg Senior High School. He enjoyed trees, gardening and reading.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a Storekeeper 3c in WWll serving in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres.

Percy is survived by a sister Wilma Shaw of Duncansville, Pa. He was preceded in death by a daughter Deanna C. Hicks and 6 siblings.

A Funeral Service will be held at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, Pa at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 with Rev. Richard H. Maher officiating.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Visitation is private for family only Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 5-7 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona.
