Richard Huber

Mr. Richard J. "Dick" Huber, 89 of The Winds, Hollidaysburg, formerly of 1211 - 17th Ave. Altoona. died at 1:55 PM Saturday, March 21, 2015 at The Winds, after a brief illness.

He was born in Ebensburg, Pa. December 24, 1925, son of the late Edwin J. and Gertrude Monice (Wamer) Huber. He married Beverly Ann (Barry) Huber June 18, 1952 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Altoona. She died January 25, 2005.

He retired in 1989 as The General Line Supervisor at Penelec with 42 years of service. He started as a lineman and retired as a supervisor responsilble for construction, operation and maintainence of the district's electrical systems.

He was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.

Dick attended Central Cambria High School and Altoona Campus of the Penn State. He was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society and enjoyed hunting and walking in the mountains.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a Pharmacists Mate 3/c in WWll. He received the European Theatre Ribbon, Pacific Theatre Ribbon (3 Stars) American Theatre Ribbon, Victory Ribbon and Philippine Liberation Ribbon (one ster)

He is survived by 3 sons Thomas R. (Susan) Huber, of Glen Allen, VA; Patrick M. Huber, od Altoona, Pa. and Michael T. Huber of Hollidaysburg, Pa. 4 siblings Eugene (Naomi) Huber, of Brooklyn, OH. Carl (Tony) Huber, of Ebensburg, Pa. Gretchen (Robert) Allison and Jane (Massie) Gibson. Dick is also surveved by 6 grandchildren Chelsy, Gregory, Benjamin, Jayde, Ashley and Mia and 4 greatgrandchildren Darek, Hunter, Cody and Steven. He was preceded in death by 4 siblings John Huber, Guy Huber, Shirley Lavallee and Anita Albano.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Pa.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received from 4 - 8 PM Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil for the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
