Rose Marlett

Mrs. Rose Marie Marlett, 97, of Altoona, formerly of 2025 5th Ave., and Parkview Terrace, Altoona,died Wednesday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.

Mrs. Marlett was born in Altoona, Pa. on November 23, 1920, daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Brandle) Langguth. She married Thomas Glenn Marlett Sr. May 11, 1940 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altoona. He died May 12, 1994.

She retired in 1980 as a Sales Clerk at the William F. Gable Co. with 20 years of service.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Rose was a 1939 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. She was a member of the Legion of Mary of Sacred Heart, Nocturnal Adoration Society, Red Hat Society, Bavarian Aide Society Auxiliary and Columbian Circle.

She enjoyed reading, Volunteering at Altoona Regional Health Systems - Bon Secours Campus and playing cards.

Rose is survived by 4 children Carol King (partner, Dick Polignone) of Hummelstown, Pa; Sharon (Ken) Kutz, Thomas G. Marlett Jr. and Tim (Julie) Martell, all of Altoona, Pa Rose is survived by 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Bonnie Webb, a grandson Kennth Riley and 5 brothers: Joseph, Raymond, James, Vincent and Gerald Langguth.

A Funeral Mass and Committal Rites will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona, Pa. at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 12, 2018 with Fr. Lubonir Strecok and Monsignor Stanley Carson concelebrating.

Committal will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 4 - 8 PM at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil for the Deceased.
