Ruth Peters

Mrs. Ruth K. Peters, 87 of Exton, Pa formerly of Hollidaysburg, died at 8:00 AM, Friday, January 25, 2019 at Sunrise at Exton, Pa after an extended illness.

Mrs. Peters was born in Wilkinsburg, Pa on November 6. 1931, daughter of the late William Frederick and Ruth C. (Brock) Keller. She married John C. Peters February 20, 1988 in West Chester, Pa He preceded her in death January 30, 2014.

Ruth retired April 1988 as a Registered Nurse from Chester County Hospital West Chester, Pa with 11 years service.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church Hollidaysburg, Pa.

Ruth was a 1949 graduate of Franklin Regional High School and a 1952 graduate of Columbia Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of Park Hills Country Club and YMCA Woman’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed golf, playing bridge and gardening.

Ruth is survived by 3 daughters Judy Abdullah, of Atlanta, Ga; Barbara Clarke and Nancy Craven, both of West Chester, Pa; a step son Atty. John C. Peters Jr. of Altoona, Pa; and 2 step daughters Karen L. (husband Rev. Dr. Mark E.) Hecht, of North East, Pa and Lind K. (husband Marc E.) Avers, of Burke, VA; 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild a sister Anna K. Garofalo, of Penn Hills, Pa Ruth was preceded in death by a sister Evelyn Glasgow in 1977.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg, Pa at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February3, 2019 with Rev. Dr. Mark Hecht and Rev. David Bowman officiating.

Interment at will be private at Alto Rest Park Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received from 1-2 PM Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg, Pa.
