Sharon E. (Greiner) Barley

Sharon E. Barley, age 73 of Altoona, died Sunday morning at her residence.  She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Brannon) Greiner.  She married Paul E. Barley Sr. on November 19, 1990 in Winchester, Virginia.  Surviving are her husband at home, daughters:  Jennifer Barley, Lisa Johnson and Lori Bond (Chuck), all of Altoona; sons:  Scott (Beth) and Paul Jr. (Sue) of Altoona; 12 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews;  a special nephew, whom she helped raise until he was 12 years old, Charles P. Greiner (Debby) and their daughter, Hailey of Altoona.  Sharon was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Peyton, a grandson, Paul Eugene Barley III, and a son in law, Jeffrey Lynn Johnson.  She was a graduate of A.A.S.D and Altoona Business School. Sharon retired as a secretary after 33 years of service from Altoona Home Nursing.  She enjoyed camping, jig saw and word search puzzles, reading, her pet dogs Sparky Lynn and Prince Charming , and her kitty Blossom Rose.  Friends received from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m and 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Tuesday September 8 at VIncent J. Good Funeral Parlor, 328 Fifth Avenue, Altoona, where a private funeral service will be held by Pastor Dale DiBernardinis.  Internment in Logan Valley Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sharon’s church, Altoona First Church of God, 3007 Union Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
