Stephen Flanagan

Mr. Stephen J. “Ozzie” Flanagan Sr. “Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather” 72, of Altoona, Pa died in the arms of his loving wife, Patty, Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at his home.

Steve was born in Altoona, Pa on November 30, 1945, son of the late Edward J. and Helen (Lach) Flanagan. He married Patricia L. Dennis November 24, 1973 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Altoona.

He retired in 2004 as a Foreman at Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Hollidaysburg with 33 years service.

Steve was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Altoona, Pa.

Mr. Flanagan was a 1963 graduate of Altoona High School and attended Parsons Junior College, Parsons, Kansas and Frederick College, Portsmouth, VA. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Brotherhood and enjoyed his family and friends, hunting, fishing, football. He was member of the 1962 Altoona High School football team that was inducted into the Blair County Sports Hall of Fame.

In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by 2 daughters and 1 son; Lisa (James) Blystone, of Parker, Pa; Lori (Darren) Fergusson, of Oakdale, Pa; and Stephen J. Flanagan Jr. of Altoona, Pa 2 bothers and 2 sisters Edward J. (Tina) Flanagan Jr. of Altoona, Pa; Patricia A. (Francis “Bear”) McCloskey, of Altoona, Pa,; Michael P. (Deborah) Flanagan, of Hollidaysburg, Pa; and Cathy (John) Cribari, of Fresno, CA. Mr. Flanagan is also survived by grandchildren Andrea, Alexander, J.J. Haleigh, Brandon, Dylan and Ava. Steve was preceded in death by a daughter Christina August 5, 2018.

A Funeral Mass, “Celebration of Life” will be held Noon, Today, November 30,2018 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Altoona, Pa with Fr. Christopher Lemme, Fr. Ronald Osinski and Msgr. Robert C. Mazur concelebrating.

Committal Rites will be held at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery Altoona, Pa at the convenience of the family.
