She is survived by her life partner of nearly 25 years, Steven Fornwalt, of Altoona; two daughters, Kate Thomas (Joel) of Burlington, VT and Amanda Thomas of Sheffield Lake, OH; sister Rebecca Randall of Avon Lake, OH; brother Robert Melbar (Gwen) of Amherst, OH and brother Tom Melbar (Cheryl) of Sheffield Lake, OH; special relatives uncles Larry Stiffler, Kai Rodriguez and Cheryl Fornwalt; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Susan was preceded in death by her brother John Melbar.
Susan loved life and enjoyed brightening the days of everyone she came in contact with. Her artistic painted creations warm the homes of the many friends who knew and loved her over the years. They will always remember her from Harvestfest, Founders Crossing and local gift shops. Harvestfest was a favorite yearly gathering for Scrap Happy Creations.
Susan loved spending time with her family, watch parties with her sister and partner, and getaway trips to Ohio, Lake Glendale and Rocky Gap.
If you were lucky enough to cross paths with Susan, you likely received a sincere compliment to brighten your day. She made friends easily and was loved dearly. She will be deeply missed.
There will be no services, but everyone should celebrate our Susan in their own way.
Her wish was that everyone who knew and loved her act with kindness and help those in need.
