Terrance “Terry” E. Smith, 64, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 5, 2024 surrounded by his family at Hilltop Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Altoona. Born April 7, 1960, Altoona, son of the late James M. Sr. and Phyllis J. (Wilkins) Smith. Preceded in death by his aunt, Doris Smith, whom he considered a second mother. Survived by his brothers, Thomas Tomlinson Sr., James (Jane) Smith Jr., Steve (Rose) Smith, and Thomas “Turtle” (Karen) Smith; sisters, Tina (Michael) Shannon and Tracie Bossler; and was loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Terry loved life and loved his family beyond measure. He actively helped maintain the Garfield Park softball and baseball fields. Terry enjoyed sports, especially baseball. He was the sports trivia king of Altoona and attended many high school and professional sporting events. Terry was an unofficial assistant coach of the Altoona High School Baseball Team. Friends and family will be received Friday, November 8, 2024 from 5-9 p.m., Jones Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 10 a.m., the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Msgr. Stanley Carson celebrant. Committal Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org). Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, An Anderson Family Firm, 1222 13th Avenue, Altoona. Condolences may be made at JonesFHAltoona.com
