Thomas J. Boslet, 72, Altoona, died Thursday at UPMC Altoona, after a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of Marian J. (Francis) Boslet and the late F. Joseph Boslet. On Sept. 3, 1966, he married Mary Elizabeth O’Leary at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.
In addition to his wife, surviving are three children: Colleen M. (Thomas) Shoeman of Altoona, Stephanie A. (Gordon) Dively of Burlington, N.C., and Thomas F. (Melissa) Boslet of Altoona; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his mother, Marian J. Boslet; and three siblings: Barbara A. (Edward) Neff, David P. (Susan) Boslet and Theresa R. Johnsonbaugh, all of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert A. Boslet.
Tom was a 1965 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired in 1999 as a switchman at Bell Atlantic Telephone Co. after 33 years of service.
He was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, where he had served as an usher for many years.
Tom enjoyed gardening and was known for his green thumb, NASCAR and restoring a 1956 Chevrolet Hot Rod.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home, Altoona.
