Tyler S. Hammel, 31, of Bellwood, passed away Monday at Shadyside Cancer Center, Pittsburgh, after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona, the son of Robert Hammel and Christine A. DeArmitt.
He worked as a self-employed auto mechanic.
Tyler was a Christian.
He was a 2010 graduate of Altoona Area High School and enjoyed cars, computers, nature, outdoors and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Emily A. Roberts of Nebo, N.C.; and his fiancee, Jessie A. Napkora of Pittston.
Tyler was preceded in death by his grandmother, Helen DeArmitt; and an uncle, Brian DeArmitt.
Services are private at the convenience of the family at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
There will be no public visitation.
