William Steele

William Michael S. Steele, 47, of Altoona, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Altoona, son of John W. and Linda K. (Brawley) Steele.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Anessa Merrill of Carrolltown; a grandson, Oliver Cunningham; two brothers, Scott S. Steele and John W. (Ann) Steele, both of Altoona; and a sister, Raylene R. (Jeff) Vahey of Butler. Bill is also survived by five nieces: Breanna Vahey and Sarah, MacKenzie, Savanna and Emily Steele; two aunts, Jean White and Charlotte Stiver; and several cousins.

Bill was a 1991 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He enjoyed football, baseball and cooking.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, with Thomas Kurtz officiating.

Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona, at the convenience of the family.
